Chlorophenols are persistent toxins in the natural environment. In this investigation, 2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP) and pentachlorophenol (PCP) in aqueous media were degraded using an electrokinetic process (EK) and an electro-Fenton process (EF) using stainless steel and graphite as the anode and cathode, respectively. Chlorophenols were degraded via direct electrolysis at the surface of the electrode in the EK process. However, in the EF process, the degradation mechanism includes direct electrolysis and oxidation by hydroxyl radicals. The optimal conditions were a current density of 0.75 mA/cm2 and an air flow of 0.7 l/min at pH 4. Under the optimal conditions, the 2,4-DCP and PCP removal rates in the EF process were 80.18 and 64.03 %, respectively. The mineralization efficiencies of 2,4-DCP and PCP were 78.23 and 75.77 %, respectively. The results of dechlorination reveal that almost all of the chlorines were released, but some were retained in the intermediates. The dechlorination efficiency revealed that the EF and EK4 processes two chlorines from 2,4-DCP. They released four or five chlorines and four chlorines from PCP, respectively. The kinetic results provide evidence of pseudo-first degradation. The rate constant (k cp) declined as pHi was increased from 4 to 10. The k cp values reveal that the pH is an important factor that affects the degradation efficiency in the electrochemical process. 相似文献

The experiment was conducted to ascertain net production and consumption rates of 15NH4 + and 15NO3 ? for water and sediment in a wetland. This was done using 15N isotope pool dilution methodology under ambient and elevated atmospheric CO2 concentrations in experimental riparian wetlands to obtain the gross N transformation rates. The 15N budget for sediment was also estimated. The results suggested that the differences in high proportion of 15N concentration in the overlying water body under elevated CO2 could be attributed to the low production and high consumption rates of 15NH4 + in sediment. The elevated CO2 effect on production and consumption of NH4 + decreased by 144 % (P = 0.014) and increased by 153 % (P = 0.009), respectively. Thereby, 15NH4 + production rates are negatively related with 15NO3 ? consumption rates and this accounted for the decreases in net 15NO3 ? consumption under CO2 enrichment in the wetland sediment by 11 % (P = 0.528). Therefore, 15NO3 ? production and consumption rates may strongly depend on NH4 + production. Inorganic 15N and total 15N exported from sediment to overlying water body by the effect of CO2 were 41 % (P = 0.071) and 18 % (P = 0.000), respectively. Therefore, low net 15NH4 + production and high 15NH4 + consumption rates under elevated CO2 may partly explain the significant reduction of N from the sediment. 相似文献

In order to survive the desert habitat, desert shrubs have evolved a number of special eco-physiological mechanisms to resist environmental stress during long-term evolution. In this paper, adaptation mechanisms of desert shrubs to environmental stress are reviewed in terms of morphological structure, water potential, photosynthesis and water use efficiency, transpiration and stomatal conductance, osmotic adjustment and anti-oxidation protection. We estimated Moho depth beneath the southern Tanlu fault zone and its adjacent area using common-conversion-point(CCP)stacking of receiver fun-ctions,which were computed from teleseismic records of the CEArray.Our estimated Moho depth matches well with 2-D profiles derived from active-source deep seismic reflection surveys,suggesting that the calculated the Moho depth map is likely accurate beyond the 2-D profiles.Overall,the estimated Moho depth map showed a high spatial correlation with tectonic provinces,i.e.,Moho topographic boundaries are in good agreement with geological boundaries.Beneath the Dabie orogenic belt and the mountainous areas in southern Anhui Province,the Moho lies relatively deep,and there is an obvious difference in Moho depth between the two sides of this segment of the Tanlu fault.We further selected four depth profiles with dense instrumentation to show Moho depth changes across different tectonic blocks in the study area.We saw two step-like changes in Moho depth beneath the Xiangfan-Guangji and Gushi-Feizhong,which run parallel along the WNW-ESE direction and delineate the southern and northern bounds of the northern Dabie orogenic belt,which is likely the suture zone between the North China Block and South China Block.Crust beneath the northeast corner of the study area is significantly thinner than other areas,which is consistent with the crustal detachment model proposed for suturing between the North and South China blocks in the region east to the Tanlu fault. 相似文献
